WAVE ANNOUNCES 2 HOME DATES FOR 2010-11 SEASON
MILWAUKEE (June 8, 2010) – A “Black Friday” home opener and the
traditional New Year’s Eve game are the first two home dates announced today for
the Milwaukee Wave’s 2010-11 season.
Group ticket reservations are being
accepted now for games on Friday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Dec. 31, times TBD. Season
tickets and Flex Packs for the 12-game home slate also are on sale. The complete
Major Indoor Soccer League schedule will be announced later this
year.
“We’re very pleased to announce our home opener and traditional
New Year’s Eve date earlier than ever. This will give us the chance to promote
the games further out and give groups an early chance to reserve seats for these
attractive games,” said Peter Wilt, president and CEO of the Milwaukee Wave.
“We’ve also put our season tickets on sale earlier than ever and our camp
registrations are increasing over last year as well. These are all positive
signs that the momentum we began last year with the new Wave is carrying over to
next season.”
The New Year’s Eve game is a Wave tradition that began
back in the 1997-98 season. The Wave are 9-3 in those games, including a 12-10
overtime victory over Baltimore last year.
In addition to the regular
season games, the Wave announce their two School Day Game exhibition dates for
next season: Tuesday, Nov. 16 and Wednesday, March 2. These annual exhibitions
are part of the Making Waves educational outreach, a three-part program that
also includes classroom curricula and a player-driven assembly. Tickets to those
games are available to the general public.
All tickets and ticket
packages can be purchased by calling the Wave office at
414-224-9283.
